It does make me question some things though, specifically regarding The Black Tot: The Last Consignment. The label states there’s some Jamaican rum in there but it appears there wasn’t? Was that claim just conjecture until Roberts shared his notes?
Good question regarding Last Consignment. Thus far, we only really have concrete records of specific rum being used from about 1920s to the 1970s. Multiple sources note that Jamaica rum was not part of the blend, or not preferred. It’s like trying to figure out what a puzzle looks like with only 40% of the pieces.
I don’t know how/why Last Consignment notes Jamaican on the label. They may have had records I don’t have, or it might be speculation. The story of these specific flagons history is a whole other story.
