A photographic deep dive into operations at Worthy Park rum distillery in Jamaica, along with an overview of the distillery’s history excerpted from the Jamaica chapter of Modern Caribbean Rum.
The only train I can imagine coming from Montego Bay would be to Appleton Estate. They definitely make Appleton there, but I don't believe Myers' has been made there.
Another great article, mate! It's like I was really there, haha.
A couple questions:
- do you have any idea if the wooden yeast/cane acid vats were open or closed top?
- is WP blending any of their cane juice distillate into any of their current products (I can't say I've tasted any Cane Juice notes, as one can with Chairman's Reserve) , or is the CJN a completely different product.?

Matt , years ago traveled by train from Motego Bay side to a large rum still in the mountains that produced Meyers and Appleton rum. Still exist?

Hey Patrick! I'm glad you liked the article.
The wooden vats are open.
It's my understanding that WP is blending cane juice into some of their products. The new Worthy Park Overproof is one such example.
Do you imagine "Cane Acid" can be made form molasses too??
